Pistachio & chocolate scone
Ingredients:
  • Flour 4 cups
  • Milk 1/2 cup
  • Water 1/2 cup
  • Butter 3/4 cup
  • Egg 1
  • Egg yolk 1
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Sugar 1 cup
  • Yeast 2 1/2 tsp
  • Chocolate bar 1/2 cup
  • Crushed pistachios 1/2 cup

Method
  1. Combine water and 2tbsp of flour in a saucepan and simmer the mixture's runny paste; leave it to cool.
  2. Mix half sugar, milk. Yeast in a bowl and allow it to froth.
  3. Mix flour, sugar, salt, butter, egg, egg, egg yolk, the cooled batter.
  4. Add the yeast mix to a soft dough.
  5. If the dough is dry, add milk a little and make a soft little sticky dough.
  6. Add the chocolate and pistachios and knead again.
  7. Allow the dough to rest for about an hour or 2.
  8. Take the punch it down and break into individual balls 10 to 12.
  9. Bake at 190°c for 20 mins or until the top turns golden brown.
